Peugeot 308 Car Review

What is this?

This is the replacement for the, uh, Peugeot 308. It is due to the need familiarity with the nomenclature Race '08' called 309, and in the future, all models of Peugeot will end in '08'. It is also not called because Peugeot 309 car already in 1985. This is the new Peugeot 308, on an entirely new platform, with a completely new interior and a new fight on his hands.

Lead

It's in the same 'Efficient Modular Platform 2' (EMP2) as Citroen C4 Picasso and 140 kg lighter than the old 308 on average. It is also lower and wider than before, with a distance between axes a little longer. That translates into a car that rides with confidence. This new 308 is really very comfortable, cossetting and refined. NVH is properly fastened, do not bob and weave on the street, and remains constant.

But the downside is that if you want to actively out of shape; There rolling remarkable body in tight corners and steering is not as communicative as, for example, a Ford Focus. The 155bhp petrol unit is a powerful, accessible, while the 115bhp 1.6-liter diesel shows some decent refinement. And that's the issue here. Comfort.

Inside

Ooh, here's where it gets interesting. Sure, the ship is huge (at the expense of some space for the rear legs), but the big news is how buttonry Peugeot has pretty much the last 308 center console scrapped, and instead installed a 9.7in touchscreen all Requirements which handles air conditioning, navigation system, the media and so on. It is a little hard to get used to it, but familiarity breeds efficiency, and a hint of welcome 'posh' added the indoor environment.

The same goes for the dials (the tachometer speed reverse, which is great), but is an area directly under the center console, which is a bit rough. Provides a small dent in the overall feeling of premium Peugeot has captured most. In general, however, a big package - the ultra small wheel concept (see the dials above, not through it) somehow seems to work better than the 208th

Owning

The basic model is a touch less than buying a Ford Focus, and about 3k pounds cheaper than a base 1.2-liter VW Golf, which is a good value to start. Returns a 92bhp 1.6-liter diesel that a claimed 78.5mpg and emits only 95 g / km of CO2 (for tax-free circulation). Another version of this engine delivers only 91.1mpg and 82g / km of CO2. Witchcraft. Peugeot packs in a lot of kit for the money, with the top feline specification even provides details such as massage seats.
