Behold the 1341bhp electric supercar Car Review
Ladies and gentlemen, meet the Toroidion. Or, for fans AutoCorrect Ion slow. This is not an alter ego that bodes well for the first electric Megacar the world, but we must give him the benefit of the doubt for now.
Forget what 'Megacar'? It is a neologism refers to a megawatt or 1341bhp in our good old British vernacular. Koenigsegg introduced us to the concept with its One: 1 and regera Head Cases, and now similar Scandinavian Toroidion a third car has taken an alarmingly growing segment.
Built and designed in Finland, Toroidion was 1MW concept foothold in the annual supercar that-never-heard-of Convention, Monaco Top Marques show.
1MW outside the concept is an interesting mix of exotic but familiar design flourishes curves. The front end has hints of Aston DB7 and Morgan Aero 8, while there is a view of the fan VW XL1 of its three rooms, the view of the door in reverse.
And as this titchy, economical VW makes efforts Toroidion a nod to the environment with an electric drive. Power comes from a motor in each wheel, making it four wheels and so theoretically only half as dangerous as Koenigsegg Mega offers. Firmer few and far between, for now, but our guess how fast information is going to be, if ever a real "very" thing.
Inside is very easy, with little in the way of luxury: a pair of racing bucket seats available, while a suede wrapped wheel and a curious tachometer, carved-in-the-board tingling our interest more. It is a world away from the glitz of the touch screen of a Tesla and BMW i8, that's for sure.
Toroidion - headed by former Jaguar designer Zagato and Pasi Pennanen - aims to create a fully electric competition broker Le Mans and a production version 1 MW, although it is expected both a little further into the future.
